Wireless AP Malfunction




Status LED: No Light
Message Meaning: The AP has a hardware failure or it was disconnected from the network.
Troubleshooting Procedures:
1. Visually inspect the AP's patch cable to insure it is connected to the correct network jack (typically labeled WAP).
2. Remove the AP from the mounting bracket (use your fist and punch the AP towards the wall) and connect the AP to a known working AP jack at another location.
3. If the issues persists, notify your IT manager.  Provide troubleshooting steps you used, the AP No., the AP's location (room and building), serial number and MAC address.

Status LED: Continuously blinking with one or more of the following colors - blue, green, amber.
Message Meaning: The AP maybe attempting to load the software and/or connect to the wireless network controller.  If the blinking lights persists, then you may want to consider initiating troubleshooting steps.

1. Reboot the AP by removing the ethernet cables and reconnecting it after waiting for at least 5 seconds.
2. Remove the AP from the mounting bracket (use your fist and punch the AP towards the wall) and connect the AP to a known working AP jack at another location.
3. If the issues persists, notify your IT manager.  Provide troubleshooting steps you used, the AP No., the AP's location (room and building), serial number and MAC address.
